Kline Crystal Glaze-Oxidation Cone 10 Ice White Dry Mix (5 lbs.)
Description: Ice White Crystal Glaze has just the right amount of crystals and makes a great liner glaze for the inside of food-safe functional ware. In some lighting it appears to have yellow crystal formations. You can apply over a color slip. And, you can spray the other crystal oxidation glazes into this glaze. Anything that gives a color background to the white crystals really showcases this glaze well.
Important Note: For applying to porcelain: bisque fire your wares to only cone 010 for the best crystal formations. Bisque firing higher will close off the body. And, this glaze looks super on stonewares. Bisque fire your stoneware to only cone 08 - 06 for the best crystal formations.
Mixing: Add water and screen twice through an 80 mesh screen. A reading of 50 on a hydrometer. Application: Can be dipped or sprayed.
Firing: Set the kiln to cone 10 on a medium to fast speed. No fancy ramping schedule is required. 5 lbs. of dry material makes about 1 gallon of liquid glaze.
Important Note: Remember to run a few tests before applying any unfamiliar slip or glaze to lots of work. Take notes. Find the correct application for your work with the way your kiln is being fired.
