5 lbs. Ruby-Glass Copper Red Glaze. Cone 10 R (Dry Material)
Description: One of the nicest copper red glazes. In some of the images it's shown applied over Amy's CeraMist: Zach's Black. This glaze is deep and brilliant with a variety of reds. This glaze is not Vegas Red from Tom's glaze book. The raw materials coming from the mines have changed over the years. This is one of the formulas we've had to test and change to get a better copper red glaze.
Mixing: One order of 5 lbs. dry makes about 1 gallon of liquid glaze. Add water and screen 2 times through an 80 mesh screen. 52-54 on the hydrometer.
Application: Dip or spray. This glaze is nice when it has a bit thicker application. Stable at cone 10 reduction.
Firing: Cone 10 reduction.
Important Note: Remember to run a few tests before applying any unfamiliar slip orglaze to lots of work. Take notes. Find the correct application for your work with the way your kiln is being fired.
