Brass Throwing Tools
Description: Brass Throwing Tools because they make the nicest surface on your clay or porcelain while you're throwing.
The Groovy Tool: has several functions. Each end of this tool has a perfectly matched profile creating an excellent Tongue and Groove for putting together sectional work. Visit our Project Gallery to see step by step images of Tom Coleman using the Groovy Tool.
ReCurve Rib: The only rib we use once we've pulled the walls up. It makes the nicest forms! I took a templet from one of Tom's tools he's been throwing with for forty years. This is The ReCurve Rib.
Plate Rib: The brass has a reverse polarity going on between the metal and the porcelain. This makes a really nice, finished skin to the surface of your porcelain or b-mix.
Platter Rib: A nice, beefy platter rib Tom insisted we offer to throw larger plates and platters with. It's our 2nd most popular brass tool next to the ReCurve Rib.
