5 lbs. Lavender Yanagihara Glaze. Cone 10 R (Dry Material)
Description: One of the nicest colors of purple you can get in cone 10 reduction. This purple glaze is thick and opaque in it's coverage of the clay body. And, it's a purple glaze that occurs with cobalt. This cup was dipped and we sprayed a bit of 100 mesh Mesquite Ash into the side for a bit more excitement to the surface. You can also sprinkle dry 100 mesh mesquite ash onto the surface after applying glaze. We do this just after the piece has been glazed so it holds the ash better. It's beautiful with or without ash. Available in Tom's Glaze Book.
Mixing: 5 lbs of dry glaze material equals approx 1 gallon of glaze. Add water and screen 2 times thru an 80 mesh screen. Works well at 45 on the hydrometer.
Application: This glaze can be dipped or sprayed.
Firing: Cone 10 reduction.
Important Note: Remember to run a few tests before applying any unfamiliar glaze to lots of work. Take notes. Find the correct application for your work with the way your kiln is being fired.
