True Colors: 5 lbs. Orange Cone 10 Reduction
Description: True Color Glaze Orange is vibrant! True Colors go on nice and opaque with a slight pearly gloss to their surface when applied in a medium to thick application. You can go fairly thin with them, too, so they show carving. True Colors can also be bisque fired on (to cone 08) and dipped into Sperry Crack for a multi-color crack effect.
Mixing: One order equals 5 lbs. of dry glaze and approx. 1 gallon of glaze. Add water and screen twice thru an 80 mesh screen. For a thinner application have it at 40-42 on the hydrometer. For a bit thicker have it at 48-50. Stable at cone 10 reduction.
Application: Dip or Spray.
Firing: Cone 10 reduction.
Note 1: Remember to run a few tests before applying any unfamiliar slip or glaze to lots of work. Take notes. Find the correct application for your work with the way your kiln is being fired.
Note 2: The True Colors line of glazes were originally developed as a food safe glaze. But, some food and drink doesn't necessarily look "good" against some colors. An example might be - red wine against moss green. We recommend using True Color White for a liner glaze. And, have other color on the outside of the wears. It's got a classy "meant to be" functional wear "look."
