5 lbs. Sunset Copper Purple Glaze. Cone 10 R (Dry Material)
Description: One of the nicest copper induced purple/red glazes. This glaze is slightly more purple than Sunset Red. Applied over Black Magic Slip this glaze has a brighter purple color. The image of the Groovy Cup has Zach's Black CeraMist Aerosol under the Sunset Purple Glaze. Tom Coleman's Bottle has the Sunset Purple Glaze applied over Porcelain (without Zach's Black). This glaze is not in Tom's glaze book.
Mixing: One order of 5 lbs. dry makes about 1 gallon of liquid glaze. Add water and screen 2 times through an 80 mesh screen. 52-54 on the hydrometer.
Application: Dip or spray. This glaze is nice when it has a bit thicker application. Stable at cone 10 reduction.
Firing: Cone 10 reduction.
Important Note: Remember to run a few tests before applying any unfamiliar slip or glaze to lots of work. Take notes. Find the correct application for your work with the way your kiln is being fired.
