5 lbs. Pansy Pink Glaze Cone 6-10
Description: Pansy Pink is an opaque gloss glaze. When firing to Cone 6 you can apply this like a normal glaze (like in the images). When firing this glaze higher just apply it AS AN Accent Mist or Rim Dip onto other Matt Glazes. This glaze is considered a sculptural glaze and is best applied on the outside of cups and bowls. It's best to use a food safe glaze as a liner glaze on areas that come into contact with food or beverages.
Mixing: 5 lbs. of dry glaze equals approximately 1 gallon of liquid glaze. Add water and screen thru an 80 mesh screen twice. Add water to a hydrometer reading of about 42-45.
Application: This glaze can be dipped or sprayed. And, (like with any glaze or slip) you can add about a tsp full of liquid glycerin to about 2 oz of glaze so you can brush it on easily. This is what the commercial glaze companies add to their tiny jars of glazes. I like to use the larger sized, weekly pill cases for our glazes with glycerin. (like you might do with watercolors).
Firing: Cone 6 Oxidation.

Note 1: Remember to run a few tests before applying any unfamiliar glaze to lots of work. Take notes. Find the correct application for your work with the way your kiln is being fired.
