5 lbs. Turquoise Crystal Glaze Cone 7-8
Description: Turquoise Crystal Glaze cone 7-8 is a slightly different formula from the cone 10 version. But, you can refer to the images of it's cone 10 version and this fires a similar color. This glaze is food safe if it "fits" the clay body. We know it fits Coleman Porcelain. It's crystal formations come from mesquite ash so it's user friendly and beautiful.
Mixing: 5 lbs. of dry glaze equals approximately 1 gallon of liquid glaze. Add water and screen thru an 80 mesh screen twice. Add water to a hydrometer reading of about 45-50.
Application: This glaze can be dipped or sprayed. And, (like with any glaze or slip) you can add about a tsp full of liquid glycerin to about 2 oz of glaze so you can brush it on easily. This is what the commercial glaze companies add to their tiny jars of glazes. I like to use the larger sized, weekly pill cases for our glazes with glycerin. (like you might do with watercolors).
Firing: Cone 7 Oxidation. Everyones electric kilns fire differently. We recommend doing tests to start with. You might need to fire to cone 7 with a 10 minute soak.

Note 1: Remember to run a few tests before applying any unfamiliar glaze to lots of work. Take notes. Find the correct application for your work with the way your kiln is being fired.
