5 lbs. Maeda Green Glaze. Cone 10 R (Dry Material)
Description: A black metallic where it's a medium thickness. And, an emerald green where it's a bit thicker. This is considered a sculptural glaze. It can be put onto the outside of functional ware. But, do not use it as a liner glaze (in contact with food). It's best to use a celadon glaze (or something similar) where food will be in contact with the surface. This glaze is not in Tom's glaze book.
Mixing: One order equals 5 lbs of dry glaze. Add water and screen twice thru an 80 mesh screen. Works well at 50-52 on the hydrometer. Can be dipped or sprayed. When dipping you can hold for a count of 3 - 6. Take notes.
Application: This glaze can be sprayed or dipped. It works well at 50-52 on a hydrometer.
Firing: Cone 10 reduction.
Note: Be sure to test any slips and glazes you are unfamiliar with. Be sure to test them on work you consider to be a test rather than important work. How you apply the glaze and how the kiln is fired will all affect the outcome of a slip or glaze. Take notes.
