16 oz. Color Slips (Aerosol) Cone 6-10 Oxidation and Reduction
Description: Color Slips in a convenient spray! Brilliant colors from cone 5/6 all the way to cone 10 in both electric and gas/propane kilns. Use just like regular slips: sgraffito, mashima, etc. By putting a color slip under your glazes it adds an entirely new color pallet to all of your existing glazes! And, there's no need for an air compressor. An added fixative makes it smudge-proof once it's dry. It makes it easier to transport your work to your favorite firing facility. Just be sure to clean up your work space as soon as you're finished spraying. (including the foot of your pots).
Available in White, Yellow, Orange, Red, Green, Blue, Brown and Black Magic Slip. It's the same cost to ship one aerosol as it is to ship 8 aerosols. They can ONLY travel UPS Ground. If you order 8 aerosols and the shipping comes out to more then $25.00 email us and we'll put a quote together for you and send you the link.
Note#1: Clean the foot of your work with a damp sponge or a green scrubby as son as the work is dry enough to touch. And, be sure to clean up your work area as soon as you're done spraying. This includes sponges, turntables, towels, etc.
Note#2 We recommend a wetback spray booth for proper spraying safety. And, OSHA recommends wearing an NOSHA approved dust mask P-100 when spraying anything from an aerosol container.
Please Read: Application Instructions:
1) Shake well.
2) The first time you press down on the spray nozzle pure propellent will discharge. Be sure to point this first discharge away from your work.
3) Then, begin spraying your work. Not too close to the work. Start about 4 to 6 inches away and spray in horizontal passes as you turn the turn style.
4) After one rotation pass let it dry. Then, do a second pass around. You might come in with a 3rd vertical pass? It might not need to be that thick.
5) Just like applying spray paints, you might need to turn the can upside down and spray it occasionally to clear the sprayer.
Firing: Cone 6 to cone 10. In an electric kiln and in a gas reduction kiln.
Special Note: Color Slip can be applied to work that's wet, leather hard, craved thru, etc. And, bisque fire on before applying glazes. Lots of different glazes look great on it. Be sure to test any unfamiliar slips or glazes before applying it to important work. One of these images shows how I applied it under a carbon trapping shino with interesting results.
Shipping: via UPS Ground Only for Aerosol products. Allow more time for shipping.
