2.5 lbs. Sperry Crack Glaze Oxidation and Reduction Cone 10
Description: This Sperry White Crack Glaze is the original formula Robert Sperry used on his artwork. This can be used at a thick or thin consistency. And, it can be used over color slips and True Color Glazes. Instructions below.
Mixing: Add water to a thicker consistency and the cracks are larger. Mix with water to a bit thinner consistency and the cracks are smaller.
Application: It can be dipped, sprayed, poured or brushed on. Works well at a 45 on the hydrometer.
Note: Handle with care when moving it before it's been fired on. We recommend designing the work so the foot of your work doesn't have Sperry Crack on it so you have a place to pick up the work by.
Over Color Slips or True Color Glazes: For an added bit of color between the cracks we dip or spray on a color slip or True Color Glaze and bisque fire to cone 08. Then, you can apply the Sperry Crack.
Firing: This Crack works in Oxidation or Reduction at Cone 10
Important Note: Remember to run a few tests before applying any unfamiliar slip or glaze to lots of work. Take notes. Find the correct application for your work with the way your kiln is being fired.
