5 lbs. Chun Glaze. Cone 10 R (dry material)
Description: This Chun glaze is from Paul Davis who is a potter living in Australia. He got this formula during a visit to Japan. It takes other glazes well by spraying or brushing other glazes into it. This is the glaze I use on my Ghost series. It also works well over different types of Color Slips and Underglazes. Shown in these images over an Orange Slip, Yellow Slip, Red Slip and Black Magic Slip.
Mixing: Add water and screen twice thru an 80 mesh screen. Works well at 45 on a hydrometer.
Note 1: All of these results are shown over a high fire porcelain. We ONLY bisque porcelain to cone 010 (1660 F). There's no reason to bisque porcelain higher. It's a clean body - there's no organic materials in it to gas-out unless the porcelain has ball clay in it. If it has ball clay in it and not "kaolin" it's not porcelain..
Application: Dip, or Spray.
Firing: Cone 10 reduction.

Note 3: As with any unfamiliar slip or glaze be sure to test before applying onto important work.
