5 lbs. Amy's Ash Glaze. (Over Amy's Colors) Cone 10 (Dry Material)
Description: This glaze is over 50% 100 mesh mesquite ash. The processing alone is lengthy, but totally worth it for the amazing ash glaze it produces in a gas reduction kiln and in cone 10 oxidation. This glaze is stable with the most amazing rivulets. This glaze is nice over stonewares. But, it's really amazing over porcelain, and over our color slips slips and underglazes.
Mixing: Add water and mix well. Do not screen. Or, you'll screen all the ash out..(you'd be surprised:) It works well for spraying at 50 on the hydrometer. If you plan to dip this glaze we recommend thinning it out a bit to 42-45 on the hydrometer. Creates approximately 1 gallon of liquid glaze.
Application. Dip or spray. Read the information above. This glaze is great when it's applied over Amy's Color Box ofUnderglazes.
Firing: Cone 10 reduction. Cone 10 oxidation.
