Copper Grape Glaze. (Over Zach's Black) Cone 10 R (Dry Material)
Description: This is a basic copper-purple glaze that bends slightly to a purple color in reduction when it's applied over a porcelain clay body. But, when you dip or spray this Copper Purple glaze over Zach's Black Underglaze it's an awesome Purple glaze we call Concord Grape.
Directions: Create your clay work in (either) B-Mix or Porcelain. Apply Zach's Black Underglaze. Bisque to about cone 010 - 08. Then, dip or spray Copper Purple Glaze over Zach's Black Underglaze.
Mixing the glaze: add water and screen twice thru an 80 mesh screen. Works well at 45 on the hydrometer.
Firing: Cone 10 reduction.
Note: Just like any unfamiliar slip or glaze it's best to test it on work that isn't important before applying it to a lot of more important work. Everyone fires differently. Especially when it comes to reduction. Test and take notes to dial it in just right.
