5 lbs. Diamond Black Glaze: Dry Material (over Black Magic Slip)
Description: One of Tom's favorites! Tom doesn't want to share this formula directly since a lot of the work he glazes with it sells. When this happens I always ask if he's willing to let me mix it and make it available for other potters that would like to use it.
Mix: add water and screen twice thru an 80 mesh screen.
Application: Apply this glaze by spraying it over Black Magic Slip. The black magic slip is first applied to (either) leather hard greenware or bone dry. Sprayed or dipped. Bisque fire the work to cone 010 so it's still slightly absorbent and can absorb glaze. This glaze doesn't work over other slips.
Firing: Cone 10 Reduction.
Images: These images don't do it justice. It works best if it's sprayed, not dipped.
