Master Zoom Series 2021 #2 with Tom Coleman (6 Workshops) 10:00 - 11:30 am PST
The Glaze Series 3/17, 3/24. 3/31, 4/7, 4/14, 4/21
Tom starts out his Master Series 2021 (#2) With Decorating on a Black Background. When Tom has been at a crossroads with his work he always comes back to a black background. Tom will show us how to start with "Black" and develop a composition of layers with different glaze techniques. We provide all of the information for all of our participants following our Live Zoom Presentations.
Details: One of the secrets to making great work in ceramics is to realize you're actually making work THAT SHOWCASES THE GLAZE. In this series of 6 Workshops Tom covers a lot of information that's vitally important to making great work in Ceramics and why this is important to continue to pass the torch to others with correct information. Tom's basic outline for each workshop will include throwing and glaze application.
Special Note from Tom: Let's correct the mis-information that's out there as we all take Ceramic Art into the future. A lot of the mis-information was started by early commercial supply companies due to lack of information. Like bisque firing to cone 04: that's too hot for most clay bodies.
When you register for our Zoom Workshops you receive a link for the recording for your continued education in Clay. This way you do not need to join us during our live Zoom.
Live Zoom Workshops start at 10:00 am PST. We let people into the meeting at 9:45 am. Tom usually runs overtime until 12 noon PDT. Our Zooms are recorded and the link is sent to you later in the evening after zoom.
NEW "Individual Zoom with You" is an Optional Tutorial Program we decided to include as part of your Zoom Registrations. Our one hour Individual tutorial with Amy is designed to help people with any technical issues on the potters' wheel. Sometimes it's a matter of changing one or two things you're doing on the wheel that can make all the difference in being able to benefit from Tom's workshops. Amy has learned most of Tom's techniques from assisting Tom over the years.
During Live Zooms Multiple camera angles on Tom while he teaches advanced techniques on the potters' wheel. 90 minute workshop. Tom is generous and usually goes for 2 hours.
For Live Zoom: You'll receive a Zoom Invitation the night before from our Zoom Account. This email will be coming from Siri@klineglazeservice.com.
+Please have your sound "Muted." If not - we can all hear you. AND, you end up on the recording for everyone to hear until the end of time (lol). There is a Chat feature with Zoom. Write to us and I read the questions to Tom and Elaine so they can answer on Zoom.
+If you have your Audio On everyone in our community can see you. As the host I've seen some interesting things.. If you happen to see someone doing something "un-social" you can also choose not to watch them. Tom and Elaine and I apologize for anyone doing anything odd.. (I'm laughing-). On that note-
Please try to register the night before our Live Zoom if you want to attend in Live Zoom-time with us. Otherwise, we are busy getting ready for Zoom and it's difficult for us to get you the invitation on the morning of the event.
