Description: Learn a Completely New Technique to fire your pottery in a gas reduction atmosphere to get even better shinos, copper reds, and celadons. Tom is always testing and taking risks which is part of why his work keeps evolving. At this Glaze and Fire Workshop Tom is sharing his latest information for the best glaze results in a reduction atmosphere.
Location: Tom and Elaine Coleman's Studio in Henderson, NV
Workshop Dates: January 20-22nd
Bring:
+The tools you use to glaze with (ie: tongs, your favorite sponge, etc).
+Bisque ware fired to cone 010 (very important..). Create this work in cone 10 porcelain, or a porcelainious body (like bmix). We really recommend making your work in Coleman Porcelain, but sometimes it's not available with the supply chain issues.
Note 1: Once you're registered for this workshop, we'll send you a list of shapes and sizes of pots for this kiln firing. We'll send this information to you by 10/31/22.
Workshop Schedule
Friday 1/20: Arrive at 8:00 with your bisqueware. Glaze and load the kiln. This workshop day will wrap up naturally when the kiln is loaded and starting to candle.
Saturday 1/21: Arrive at 7:00 am to go into reduction with Tom and continue firing the kiln. The studio will be set up for demonstrations by Tom. The kiln will go off by about 1:00 pm and he'll continue to throw as the kiln cools.
Sunday 1/22: Tom will cool the kiln while continuing with demonstrations. The kiln opening and critique will follow.
Balance for this workshop is due the week of the workshop: $750.00
