This mug was thrown in Coleman Porcelain and glazed in a Leopard-spot Shino formula we haven't used in years.


Shino glazes originated in Japan. David Shaner (a midcentury potter) visited Japan in the early 1960's and brought this formula to the US. All of the Shino glaze formulas that you see and work with (Including Malcolm Davis's Shino).
