This Porcelain Mug is created in Coleman porcelain and fired to cone 10 in reduction. The glaze around this form has a slight, ghost-like variation from tan to light pearl blue. 4.5" x 4.5" x 3"
This is one of my first functional artworks in a series of deeper-carved work where I'm exploring more possibilities with light and shadow. This soft, chun-white glaze reveals the porcelain underneath while creating a soft, ghost-like veil to look through. Snow, Ice, ponds, water.. All influenced by the long winters I spent growing up in Plattsburgh, NY.
