Porcelain mug created in Coleman Porcelain and fired to cone 10 in reduction. This glaze has a soft, pearl light blue color. 4.5" x 4.5" x 3"
This is one of my first functional artworks in a series of deeper-carved work where I'm exploring the dramatic possibilities with light and shadow. This soft, thick, chun-white glaze still reveals the porcelain body while creating a soft, ghost-like veil to look through. Snow, Ice, ponds, water.. All influenced by the long winters I spent growing up in Plattsburgh, NY.
