1 # of Ink Black Stain (Dry)
Description: This Ink Blend formula to create black stain is manganese-free. It produces the nicest black when used as a wash to decorate with a brush over our Deco Blend Glaze. (See Tom Coleman's Brushwork). When a little more water is added it creates a grey wash. This is expensive to make. A little goes a long way when it's used for brushwork.
Mixing: Add water and screen through an 80 mesh screen twice. A little goes a long way. We use (example) a 4 oz jar to put about a spoon full of stain and a bit of water until it's a semi-thin, paintable wash. Experiment to find what works best for your work.
Application: We use it over the Deco Blend Glaze. Once the glaze is dry to the touch (or even completely dry): use a brush, or a quick little dip, or spray.
Firing: Cone 10 in either gas reduction or electric.
